Bomberman - Icon Blown Up

*dusts off comm*

An intrepid individual over at BombermanBoard found a retro-ass comic from a German issue of Club Nintendo featuring Wario and Bomberman in a version of Charles Dicken's story "A Christmas Carol". In it, Wario owns a bomb shop and Bomberman is his main employee that he ends up firing because the brat has the nerve to ask for days off.

I've uploaded an English version of the comics here on Sendspace. (I'm not responsible for the English translation, though -- that came from this page on MarioWiki.)
Shout - Phwee?

Long time no post...and I have sad news to post.

IGN.com: Hudson Entertainment Is No More

Hudson is a name that's been around gaming for nearly 30 years, crafting games in series like Bomberman and Adventure Island, amongst many, many others. But according to a blog post by Hudson Entertainment's product and brand manager Morgan Haro, Hudson Entertainment, the outfit that brought Hudson games over to the United States, is being disbanded.

The blog post attributes this to Konami's recent purchase of the Hudson Group. Haro states that "it was revealed today that all of Hudson's previously planned projects have been canceled and that [the Hudson office in San Mateo, CA] will be closing its doors at the end of February." He goes on to clarify that the Hudson Group still exists in Japan, but "will likely be focusing on social games." Presumably, anything that pertains to a Hudson license will go through Konami from here on out.

No word yet on what this means for the already-announced Bomberman 3DS game.

Or: What 1-Player Mode Would Be Like If Those Cool-Ass Custom Parts You Got In The Game Actually Did Something Besides Looking Cool.

Okay, that's slightly misleading. Most of the custom parts you get during the course of this game (called Custom Battler Bomberman, appropriately enough) aren't as varied and miscellaneous as the ones you get in, say, Bomberman 64: The Second Attack. Now that would've been awesome: I could've decked out Bomberman in pigtails and a dress for sheer cute factor and then given him Wolverine claws to slash people with. (Battle mode: Doin' It Wrong!)

But I digress.

Verdict in a nutshell: Um...I had fun with it? I'm glad to see Hudson experimenting with single-player gameplay like this, though. I bet they could come up with something fun if they combined the custom parts system from this game with an RPG or platformer style of gameplay.
Bomberman - Bomberman & Pommy Dance

Happy New Year!

Because this was easier than doing Santa Molok. I'll draw him next year.

Backstory: I was at a New Year's Eve Eve get-together with some friends and I had a pomatini, which to my Bomberbrain-without-an-off-switch sounded vaguely like Pommytini to me. Hence, this half-assed sketch. :D

Bomberman fanart from across the Pacific.

Early winter holiday present! This is Bomberman fanart I found on Pixiv, which is a Japanese image-sharing site similar to deviantArt. However, you can't see the full size of the pictures unless you have an account and you're logged into the site. The reason I didn't just upload the stuff I saved was because I wanted to keep the artist credits in some way, and this was the easiest way to do it.

See this link for how to get an account if you can't read Japanese. Alternatively, I'm going to trust that you're not going to do anything malicious or skeevy with my account, so here's my information (I only use this site for browsing).

EDIT: I've also decided to go ahead and merge some non-Pixiv fanart (originally linked on the profile page) in with this entry.
